The Senior Outreach Service was established in 2003 to deliver free support and advocacy to Jewish Seniors (65+) living at home or in care in Greater Auckland. Assistance to clients is provided on a strictly confidential basis.

Support and Advocacy for Jewish Seniors in Greater Auckland

Telephoning and Visiting Seniors living alone or in care

Liaising with Government Agencies and other appropriate organisations

Networking with providers of practical and financial assistance

Providing support for Seniors whose circumstances have changed

Arranging assistance with transition to rest home care when family support is unavailable

Mediating when appropriate or requested to do so

FUNDING

This is a vital service to the Jewish seniors at a time when Government assistance is minimal. The Outreach Committee is responsible for meeting an annual budget of $35,000. To date the service has been maintained by contributions from generous people and organisations within both of our Jewish communities. Ongoing funding is needed to ensure that this much appreciated service continues.
